About me

I’m Iryna - a Ukrainian artist and designer who has loved needlework for as long as I can remember. Stitching has always been my way of creating beauty, telling stories, and sharing a little light with the world.

Years ago, in Ukraine, my husband Andriy and I built a small embroidery studio called Hoohla. It was more than just a workshop - it was a dream we created together, one stitch at a time. We designed original cross‑stitch, needlepoint, and embroidery patterns, produced kits, and sent them to customers all over the world.

In February 2022, the war took it all. Our studio was bombed on the first day of the full‑scale Russian invasion, destroying our workspace, equipment, and most of our original designs. Andriy went to defend our country and gave his life for Ukraine in October 2022.

My daughter and I left everything behind and found safety in Portugal. It became our haven - a place to start again. And start again we did.

On July 16, 2025, I reopened the studio under a new name - Hooh.la From here in Portugal, I design and produce high‑quality patterns and needlepoint kits once more, sharing them through my website and my Etsy shop, NeedleArtPoint.

Every order helps keep this dream alive and supports projects in Ukraine that clear mines, restore nature, and plant trees. With every stitch, we grow love, peace, and hope.
